House and Building Moves - Historic Limestone Home

Solid limestone construction put this graceful lady over the 400-ton mark. Together with two outbuildings, this house moved 1/4 mile, across the street, and down a 2% grade. The one-car garage, built in 1825 was the original house. When the larger home was built in 1870, the now-garage became a chapel.
