Shoring - Bailly Brick House

Bailly Homestead is a historic site kept by the National Park Service at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.  Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the homestead includes five buildings and a cemetery.  The main home was built in 1834, but this solid-brick cottage wasn't added until 1874.  As explained in one of the photos below, the building was leaning for unknown reasons.  The final picture in this series shows where the building was raised away from the foundation and how much the house had leaned before being leveled.
